As we know from previous reviews, I'm such a big fan of murder mysteries. So when this one was recommended to me by someone a few weeks after I had been thinking about getting it, I immediately ordered it and read it as soon as it arrived.
This book did not disappoint. It did a lot of things but disappointment is absolutely not one of them. It was so good?? I looooove how scary and eerie the whole vibe is constantly. The book starts off really slowly while introducing each character and giving us some backstory so that we feel like we know them, but then immediately it just starts with the whole mystery and it keeps going. Every page after the arrival on the island is just a roller coaster of events.
I love the writing style of Agatha Christie, even if sometimes the language sounds a bit old and sentences can be expressed in a non modern style which isn't surprising considering the years she was a writer. But the style is so simple, it's easy going, theres a bit of humour there sometimes but it's very direct, it's very detailed, she often describes things to create an image you wouldn't really expect.
I expected the book to be slower, and not as eventful as it was but the epilogue really wrapped up the whole process and it just made the book even better than it already was. The eerie feeling really stays with you, it's been two days since I finished the book and I haven't actually stopped thinking about it. All the small clues, the details, things that you didn't think of, it just wraps up at the end and it all suddenly makes a lot of sense.
Basically if you love an easy going murder mystery, this book is absolutely it. It was a really good and easy read.
